Situated in several hectares of land in the village of Pointe des Lascars, there is a spiritual park bordered on one side by the Riviere du Rempart river.  It is called the Pointe des Lascars Spiritual Park, also known as Ganesha by many. Maha Shivaratree 2018 was celebrated on Tuesday 13th February. The devotees from all parts of the island converged towards the sacred lake to bring back the holy Ganga water to pour on the shivling for the great night of Shiva. A panoply of colorful kanwars, big and small can always be seen at Grand Bassin during the Maha Shivaratree festival, a great delight for the eyes.
